Kevin's Workouts


 It was about time
 

So today was my first loss in weightroom horse in 2008.

Some of my best lifts were 5 flips of the 750# tire in 17.89 seconds, a 70# sotts press, 245# no hook grip suitcase deadlift.

Some other notable lifts:
8 pull ups, 2 overhand, 2 underhand, 2 over, 2 under, which I completed.

Lateral jumps over the tire from a stand

and what I got beat on, 15 pull ups (14 of which I got, I was FUMING after I was beaten.)

 Bench shirt woes
 

Bench
bar x 10
135 x 8
285 x 5
225 x 3
275 x 1
added Inzer Rage size 54, which after a few reps I found it to be wayyy to big, I wasn't getting any pop out of the hole.
275 x 1 off 2 board
275 x 1 touch
315 x 1 off 2 board
315 x 1 off chest Very hard, I might as well have been wearing an underarmour shirt.
changed the Inzer Rage, for Inzer HPHD size 54 (Which is about 2 sizes smaller than the rage)
315 x 1 off 2 board, fell out of groove
315 x 1 off chest, fast
315 x 1 off 2 board with my shirt jacked up, weight flew up
315 x 1 off chest

Today was a good technique day for my shirt, worked a lot on set up, and unracking the bar, the weight was not very heavy.

Tricep death which is 5 reps off chest, 5 off 1 board, 2 board, 3 board, 4 board right after the other, never racking the bar.

Tricep death x 1 with 225
Tricep death x 1 with 225, on the 4 board I went for 12 reps to finish.

Pull ups
5x5

Band push downs w/ purple
4x25

That was about it, I hit some rotator stuff afterwards, and some pause push-ups

135 2x2 conventional then sumo, one immediately after the other.

1x30, 1x25

Weighted abs
weighted rotational abs.

 Speedy Squats
 

To a slightly below parallel box
Bar x 10
135 x 8
added 80# of chain x 4
185 x 3
added another 40# of chain x 3
225 8x3 with 30 sec inbetween sets

Speed deads against quaded mini bands
135 2x4 2 sumo 2 conventional
185 1x4 2 sumo 2 conventional
225 3x2 all conventional
275 2x1 conventional

I'm not sure how much the bands add but it feels like between 100-130 at the top

Glute hams 3x20

Time to eat, then off to practice where I'll hit some heavy abs.

 Weight Room Horse
 

So another Wendsday afternoon tradition here in the weight room:
Weight room HORSE.

and yes, it is exactly what it sounds like:
perform a lift, and everyone else has to match it.

We hit everything from two finger pull ups, to kettle bell double flips, single arm snatches, Tire flips, rickshaw farmers walks, and EVERYthing in between.

Good times, Next week I'll try and film some of the competition.
